Gov. Malloy Provides Winter Storm Update
Governor Dannel P. Malloy issued the following update on today’s winter storm. Presently the Governor has not activated the Emergency Operations Center, however the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection's Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security continues to monitor the storm and the Governor’s office, state agencies, and municipalities remain in continuous communication.

Gov. Malloy Announces Housing Unit at Manson Youth Institution to Close as a Result of Juvenile Justice Reforms and Declining Crime Rate
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that as a result of the state’s recently enacted juvenile justice reforms and the continuing decline in the crime rate and prison population, the Connecticut Department of Correction (DOC) will be closing one of the ten housing units at the Manson Youth Institution in Cheshire. The unit closure will save the state over $600,000 in annual operating costs.

Gov. Malloy, Connecticut Airport Authority Announce Launch of Nonstop Service Between Bradley International Airport and San Francisco with United Airlines
Governor Dannel P. Malloy, the Connecticut Airport Authority (CAA) and United Airlines today announced the debut of new, seasonal nonstop United Airlines service between Bradley International Airport (BDL) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO). Beginning June 8, 2017 and running through September 5, the flight offers business commuters and tourists another option when traveling to the Greater Hartford area.

Gov. Malloy: Holiday Open House at the Governor’s Residence Canceled Saturday Due to Parking Ban on Local Roads
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that because the City of Hartford and the Town of West Hartford have implemented parking bans on all municipal streets beginning on the morning of Saturday, December 9, and lasting throughout the day, the previously scheduled Holiday Open House at the Governor’s Residence that was to be held from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. that day has been canceled due to lack of available parking.

Gov. Malloy Announces Cyient to Expand Aerospace Manufacturing Operations in East Hartford
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Cyient, Inc., a multi-faceted aerospace engineering design and manufacturing firm is expanding its operations in East Hartford. Currently employing 456 full time workers in Connecticut, the company plans to add 85 full-time jobs over the next three years.

Gov. Malloy Announces $6.9 Million in Funding to Remediate and Revitalize Brownfields in 14 Towns Across Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that $6.9 million in state grants will be awarded to 14 towns and cities to assess, remediate, and revitalize brownfields across the state. The projects comprise 424 acres of redevelopment as part of the administration’s ongoing, unprecedented efforts to restore and put blighted properties back into productive use.

Gov. Malloy's Budget Plan Includes $3.8 Million for Intellectual Disability Partnership Initiative

Malloy today announced that his Fiscal Year 2018/2019 biennium budget proposal released earlier this week includes $3.8 million in funding to the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to support the Intellectual Disability (ID) Partnership Initiative, in addition to $1.0 million in bond funding for capital improvements.
