  • 9/12/2012 Gov. Malloy Appoints Three to CT Housing Finance Authority Board

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy has appointed three state residents to fill vacancies on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA). Kathleen Corbet of New Canaan, Nuala Droney of West Hartford and Richard Orr of West Hartford joined the board at the end of August.

  • 1/4/2012 Gov. Malloy: Jackson Laboratory Plans Approved; Connecticut "Ready to Claim Our Share" of $284B Personalized Medicine Industry

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that a final agreement between the state and Jackson Laboratory (JAX) has been fully negotiated and approved by the relevant boards. To commemorate the event, the Governor hosted a ceremonial bill signing at the UConn Health Center (UCHC), the site where the new billion-dollar, personalized medicine laboratory that will create more than 6,800 permanent jobs will be located.

  • 9/25/2012 Gov. Malloy: Infinity Music Hall Coming to Hartford

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) has requested $1.3 million in bond funding to assist Norfolk's Infinity Music Hall and Bistro in opening a second, larger location in the Front Street District of Hartford.

  • 6/18/2012 Gov. Malloy Announces Alexion Pharmaceuticals to Expand in New Haven

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that leading biopharmaceutical company Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. will establish its global headquarters at a new facility to be built in New Haven by 2015. The state will support the project through the First Five program, Governor Malloy's signature economic initiative that is creating jobs by spurring large-scale business development projects. The company will relocate its existing Connecticut workforce of more than 350 employees to the facility once it is complete and expects to create 200-300 new jobs in the state by 2017. In addition, hundreds of jobs in service industries are expected to be created as a result of Alexion's move to New Haven.

  • 12/12/2012 Gov. Malloy Announces New Tenant at Colt Gateway

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Foley Carrier Services, LLC has relocated its operations from Glastonbury to a 17,000 square foot space in the South Armory of Colt Gateway in Hartford. The move brings 110 jobs to Hartford immediately, with plans to add up to 70 new jobs within three years.

  • 7/26/2012 Gov Malloy New Distribution Center in Windsor will Create 200 Jobs

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Dollar Tree, Inc., which recently acquired a site in Windsor, will build a one-million-square-foot, $104 million distribution center and hire a minimum of 200 people within the next five years.

  • 10/3/2012 Gov. Malloy: Report Reviews Economic Development Potential for State's Deep Water Ports

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the completion of the Connecticut Deep Water Port Strategy Study which was commissioned by Connecticut's Department of Transportation (DOT) to guide the development of a long-term economic development strategy for the deep water ports in Bridgeport, New Haven, and New London. The study makes recommendations to protect existing commercial operations at these ports, and identifies new opportunities for business growth.

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced the state will support the expansion plans of CareCentrix, a leading provider of home health benefits management services. As the latest "First Five" company, the project will save more than 200 existing jobs and add nearly 300 new positions by 2017.

The funding is part of the Governor's overall 10-year $420 million commitment to expand and revitalize affordable housing across the state.

  • 10/3/2012 Gov. Malloy: Charter Communications Establishing Corporate Headquarters in Connecticut

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy announced today that Charter Communications, Inc., a Fortune 500 company and the fourth-largest cable operator in the United States, plans to establish its headquarter office in downtown Stamford. Charter will invest more than $10 million and intends to bring 200 jobs to the area, which includes the majority of its executive officers. Charter will lease an approximately 70,000 square foot space at 400 Atlantic Street.

  • 7/31/2012 Gov. Malloy Announces Deloitte to Expand in Connecticut

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that Deloitte is expanding operations in Connecticut across its Hartford, Stamford and Wilton locations. The project will create between 200 and 500 new jobs and retain all 1,153 existing Deloitte employees in the state. The positions range from entry level to high-level executive jobs.

    Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that five Connecticut small businesses located in Berlin, Mansfield, Meriden, Stamford and Westport have qualified for assistance through the state’s Small Business Express Program (EXP). The program was created as a part of the bipartisan jobs bill passed during last year’s jobs special session to encourage business expansion and job growth.
