Gov. Malloy Commemorates the Seventh Anniversary of the Affordable Care Act
(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy, noting that the number of people without health insurance in Connecticut is at the lowest point in history, today applauded the seventh anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, which was signed into law by President Barack Obama on March 23, 2010. Through the adoption of the law and the coverage it has extended through Access Heath CT, the state’s healthcare exchange, Connecticut is among the states with the lowest uninsured rates in the nation.

LT. Gov. Wyman, Dept. of Social Services, Access Health CT Commemorate 7th Anniversary of Affordable Care Act
(HARTFORD, Conn.) – Today, Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman, Chair of Access Health CT (AHCT), Department of Social Services Commissioner Roderick Bremby, and Access Health CT CEO Jim Wadleigh released statements in advance of the seventh anniversary of the federal Affordable Care Act (ACA), which is tomorrow, March 23, 2017. In Connecticut, the ACA is credited with reducing the state’s uninsured rate by half to 3.8 percent, among the lowest in the nation. It has also spurred other major reform initiatives currently underway to improve the healthcare system and control costs.

Today, Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, Chair of the Board of Access Health CT (AHCT), and Access Health CT CEO Jim Wadleigh announced the start of 2018 healthcare open enrollment. Gov. Malloy Announces Connecticut's Submission For Amazon's Second Headquarters
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) Commissioner Catherine Smith today unveiled the State of Connecticut’s proposal for Amazon’s second headquarters, which includes sites in the Hartford and Stamford regions. Last month, Amazon announced that it was seeking a site for a second headquarters – known as “Amazon HQ2” – in North America, which will create tens of thousands of additional jobs.
