Gov. Malloy: First of Two Increases in State's Minimum Wage Scheduled to Take Effect Wednesday
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today reminded Connecticut residents that the first of two scheduled increases in the state’s minimum wage is slated to take effect this week as a result of a new law the Governor signed earlier this year, which requires the state’s minimum wage to increase from $8.25 to $8.70 on January 1, 2014, followed by a second increase on January 1, 2015 to $9.00.

Gov. Malloy's Common Core Taskforce to Meet, Hear Presentation on Best Practices
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the Educators’ Common Core Implementation Taskforce is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, May 7, at Cromwell High School, 1 Donald Harris Drive in Cromwell. The meeting will run from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and will be held in library.

Gov. Malloy Applauds Final Passage of Legislation That Will Help Veterans Find Employment
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today hailed the final passage of legislation (HB 5299) on Wednesday that will address barriers to employment for military families by requiring that state licensing authorities take into account military training and experience, where appropriate, as a substitute for additional training as well as allowing spouses to gain streamlined occupational certifications.

Gov. Malloy: Completion of New Haven Line Power Upgrade Project Means Safer, More Reliable Service for Connecticut Rail Commuters

Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that he is directing U.S. and state flags to fly half-staff on Monday, May 26, 2014 in observation of Memorial Day. In accordance with the U.S. flag code, flags should remain lowered on that day from sunrise until noon.
